Premium motoring - 2002 Chrysler Concorde Limited sedan
First, an update -- the elegant Chrysler LHS sedan which has been a separate model since its debut in 1996, has been renamed the Chrysler Concorde Limited. In addition, the automaker as adopted the LHS's exterior -- its bold egg-crate grille design with chrome edging, quad projector headlamps, body-side molding and rear facia with the Chrysler winged badge. Now considered top-of-the-line in the Concorde sedan family, the Limited offers consumers that extra measure of style and sophistication.
Built exclusively at its home plant in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, the four-door Concorde Limited is powered by the 3.5L high-output SOHC 24-valve V-6 engine and bolted to a four-speed automatic transaxle with overdrive.
On the road, the big Chrysler turns in a solid performance, delivering highway speed very responsively with precise handling. This sedan is a comfortable Interstate cruiser. Hours behind the wheel pass quickly. A four-wheel independent suspension features MacPherson front struts with integral gas-charged shock absorbers, coil springs, single transverse lower links, tension struts, urethane jounce bumpers with spring seats and link-type stabilizer bar.
Rear Chapman struts with integral gas-charged shock absorbers and coil springs, dual transverse lower links, lower trailing links and a link-type stabilizer bar round out the suspension hardware. The result is the precise grace, poise and control of a much smaller sedan. Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus P225/55R17 black sidewall all-season touring tires transfer torque to the road.
Inside the cabin, the layout of displays and controls are excellent with improved interior ergonomics throughout. Seating is very comfortable with the cavernous rear seating area ideal for three adults, featuring a combination armrest/dual cupholder/storage bin. The trunk is huge, with a whopping 18.7 cu. ft. of cargo space. The large trunk opening makes the most of the available cargo area.

Engine performance numbers for the 3.5L V-6 are 250 hp at 6,400 rpm and 250 lb-ft torque at 3,900 rpm. EPA fuel economy is 18 city/26 highway using regular unleaded gasoline. Underhood fluids are easily accessible and clearly marked.
Standard safety features include dual front airbags, internal emergency trunk release, remote keyless entry, speed sensitive door locks, side-impact door beams, fog lights, four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock, security alarm, sentry key theft deterrent system, and traction control.
Optional safety/security equipment includes driver and front passenger side airbags ($390) and full size spare tire with chrome wheel ($385).
The base Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Sticker Price (MSRP) for the Chrysler Concorde Limited sedan is $28,285. Destination charge adds $650. Dealers report good supplies of the sedan.
