Cars for Sale in Montana

One of the best parts in John McTiernan’s film adaptation of The Hunt for Red October is when First Officer Vasily Borodin speaks of what his dreams are should the submarine’s rogue officers manage to successfully defect to the United States of America. More than anything he wants to find a wife, drive an RV as he travels state from to state, raise rabbits and live in Montana. And who can blame him? Montana might not be the most cosmopolitan city in the country, but it doesn’t need to be. When you have wide open spaces and mountainous vistas that are as stunning as what this state offers, you don’t much feel the need for a big, bustling, noisy city.

Given that it’s such a wide open state that means a lot of driving if you actually want to get anywhere. This is evidenced by the 15,163 miles driven annually by the average Montanan, in the 923,486 registered vehicles found throughout the state. But let’s say you’re not like Vasily and you want something a bit less unwieldy than a giant RV. That’s cool. There are 436 dealerships throughout the state who would love to show you one of their cars for sale. The dealerships help generate some $2.27 billion in new car sales annually and help to sustain the 10,454 auto industry jobs found across the state.

If you’ve got a car, you’re certainly in luck. Montana is home to the Going to the Sun Glacier Park, which is often cited as one of the most scenic drives in the entire country. And if you’re into driving to places to discover wildlife, Montana is the state to do it as the elk, deer and antelope populations outnumber the human population. Montana also has the largest grizzly bear population in the lower 48 states.

Just be sure that when driving in Whitehall, you don’t drive your vehicle while icepicks are attached to the wheels. That’s against the law.
