Iconic Name, Better Performance: 2015 Dodge Dart sedan

Dodge introduced performance in the compact car segment with the all-new, state-of-the-art Dart four-door sedan back in 2013. The all-new Dart marked the Dodge brand’s re-entry into the compact sedan segment, hitting the bulls-eye with a modern, unmistakable Dodge design that builds upon its performance heritage while evoking emotion, efficiency and fluidity of movement.

Sometimes a second chance is all you need.

Originally introduced in the early 1960s, the Dodge Dart sedan started out as a full-sized sedan, then modified to be a mid-size. It was then further shrunk into an all-out compact car a year after that, before finally being discontinued all together in 1976. Needless to say, it's not a car that had many clamoring for its revival. It seemed relegated to the annals of automotive history and little else.

Then the year 2013 rolled around.

President Barack Obama began his second term in the White House, the Vatican selected a new Pope who almost immediately began to make huge waves, NASA landed the Curiosity Rover on Mars and the Dodge Dart was reintroduced to American motorists. This was significant for manufacturer as it was the first compact car in the company's line since it discontinued the Dodge Neon back in 2005. Immediately, it was a vehicle that was unmistakable as a member of the Dodge family with its striking exterior that managed to be both sleek and yet project an air of toughness in a way that most compact sedans are never able to achieve.

Now a full two years into its revival and the Dodge Dart shows no signs of being dulled or held back from reaching its full potential. All of its style and stance and personality remains fully intact, further proving that the end isn't really the end when there's a strong enough vision for a comeback, and that's precisely what Dodge has achieved here with this modern iteration.

So hop behind the wheel, crank the Tigershark 2.4 liter MultiAir engine, pop the clutch on the six-speed manual transmission, burn some rubber and feel the rush that comes from getting a second lease on life with the Dodge Dart.
