Cars for Sale in Tennessee
All your life, pop culture has lied to you about one of the cornerstones of Tennessee history: Davy Crockett. The iconic (and eternally catchy) ballad proclaims that Mr. Crockett was 'born on a mountaintop in Tennessee.' In fact, Crockett was actually born near the banks of Limestone Creek. Next you’ll probably be shocked to learn he (probably) didn’t kill a bear when he was only 3.
But even if the reality doesn’t live up to the legend, the reality is still very tangible (in a way). Limestone Creek still runs through the area near Greenville, and on the banks of that creek stands a replica of the cabin where Mr. Crockett was born.
Tennessee is bursting with history, and not just the parts that involve the legendary frontiersman. Just hop in your car and drive around the state to soak it all in. Tennesseans do plenty of driving themselves, whether it’s to see history or otherwise. They drive an average of 15,735 miles in the 5 million or so vehicles that are registered. The state has nearly 3,500 dealerships with cars for sale, many of which contribute to the $12.43 billion in new car sales. There are more than 309,000 auto industry jobs to be found.
One of the best places to drive to is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most-visited national park in the country. It was so-named thanks to the smoke-like bluish haze that often envelops the iconic mountain range. To get there, though, you’ll likely drive along the Dolly Parton Parkway. The iconic country singer is Tennessee native.
Just be sure that when you’re driving through Tennessee that you don’t drive alone. If you’re a woman, that’s against the law.
